Sometimes you just need to stop, breathe, sew, laugh, and enjoy good friends.
So, once a year, Dakota does exactly that!
Join us in Hamilton, Missouri, for four days and three nights of relaxed, completely non-structured OPEN SEW time as we celebrate Dakota’s birthday. There are no classes to rush to, no projects you have to finish, and no schedule to keep.
Just bring your sewing machine, your projects, and your love of creating—and get ready for a few days of sewing, crafting, friendship, delicious food, and plenty of laughter.
And yes… ALL CRAFTERS ARE WELCOME!
Dakota loves opening the doors of Hotel Hamilton to friends from near and far—and their friends, too. Come by yourself and make new friends, or gather your favorite sewing buddies and make it a getaway together.

Imagine four days where you can sew whenever inspiration strikes, stay up late talking and stitching, take a break in a massage chair, grab a cup of coffee, visit the Missouri Quilt Museum, or simply sit and enjoy the company of other creative people.

Lunch is on your own each day, giving you the perfect opportunity to explore Hamilton’s wonderful local restaurants—or bring your own lunch and warm it up in the event hall microwave.
YOUR HOME AWAY FROM HOME
Our boutique hotel suites are designed with quilters and friends in mind.
Most suites feature two bedrooms with five twin beds in each bedroom, along with 3–4 bathrooms and a comfortable gathering room where you can relax, visit and make memories after a long day of sewing.
All suites are located on the ground level.
Suite 1: Rooms 1 & 2 — 10 beds, 4 bathrooms, gathering room
Suite 2: Rooms 3 & 4 — 10 beds, 3 bathrooms, gathering room
Suite 3: Rooms 5 & 6 — 10 beds, 4 bathrooms, gathering room
Suite 4: Rooms 7 & 8 — 10 beds, 4 bathrooms, gathering room
Suite 5: Rooms 9 & 10 — 10 beds, 4 bathrooms, gathering room
Suite 6: Room 11A & 11B — 8 beds, 2 bathrooms, gathering room
Room 12: Private room with queen-size bed and private bath. Additional cost applies.
COMING WITH FRIENDS?
Retreat tickets are sold individually, but accommodations are organized by room and suite. All rooms are shared except Room 12.
If you're coming with a group, be sure to coordinate your room selections with your friends when purchasing your tickets so you can stay together.
WANT TO COME EARLY OR STAY A LITTLE LONGER?
We know how hard it is to leave a good retreat!
Early check-in: Monday, August 23, from 4–6 p.m.
Extended stay: Stay through Saturday morning.
Add an extra night for just $70 per night.
Meals are not included on additional nights, but you'll have even more time to sew, relax and enjoy Hamilton!

Retreat ticket: $300 per person

Your retreat registration includes your retreat space, accommodations, meals included in the retreat, museum admission, beverages, treats and all the little comforts that make Hamilton Retreats feel like home.

Please bring a machine you are familiar with. There are no sewing-machine technicians on site for repairs. Machines are available to rent for $30 for the week if needed.
A NOTE ABOUT MEALS
We do our best to provide a variety of foods, and our caterer typically includes at least one meat option and one fruit or vegetable item with each meal.
Unfortunately, we cannot guarantee that we can accommodate every food allergy, dietary restriction or special diet. If you have food restrictions, please contact Dakota before registering at 435-849-2564. You may also wish to bring familiar foods with you to ensure you're comfortable throughout the retreat.
