In this hands-on class, you will learn how to harness color, value, and scale to create a cohesive, striking design—without the stress. Through simple, practical techniques, you will gain confidence in combining a variety of fabrics, textures, and block sizes to build your own Jumbo Scrappy Star. This is a creative deep-dive that turns “scraps” into intentional artistry. Join us and experience just how fun and freeing scrap quilting can be.
 
On-site lodging and Commuter tickets available. Quilters staying on-site will be hosted in one of the Hamilton Retreat Suites. Each suite has 2 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms. Each bedroom houses 5 quilters in their own beds.
 
Meet your Instructor: Emily Bailey is a scrap quilter, designer, and teacher. She grew up in a family of artists and makers, where she was encouraged to create and develop her talents. She thought she would be a fashion designer, but after the birth of her three sons - discovered quilting was more her style. She loves being a part of the quilting community. She knows wherever she goes to teach and mingle with quilters, she will have instant friends. She has been designing for 20 years. She has been published in Love of Quilting, McCall’s Quilting and Simply Quilts. She teaches through her website, YouTube, and at live events.

Sewing stations will not be assigned but may be selected upon arrival.
Our sewing hall will knock your socks off! Each guest will have their own 6 foot table and a chair, and plenty of outlets. The lighting is wonderful. We provide ironing stations at each block of tables, but you are welcome to bring your own mini iron for your station. We will have cutting stations set up also! You may consider bringing an extra chair pad-especially if you have a favorite! Free WIFI and 2 massage chairs.
 
Our boutique-esque guest suites include:
2 bedroom suites, with shared living room and 3-4 bathrooms. 5 twin beds in each bedroom.

Pillowtop mattresses and soft linens!
Complimentary ear plugs ( you are welcome)
