CABIN- Geese in the Cabin Quilt project & Better than Cabin lodging!!

S'MORES - delicious desserts each night!

4 night Retreat with check-in beginning @ 4 pm Monday March 21st. Check out Friday March 25th 11am***. We will be enriched by three fantastic instructors AND be treated to 2 wonderful projects!!

GEESE IN THE CABIN class - This class will be taught by the amazing Janet Yamamoto from Hamilton, Missouri! Janet has been an Island Batik Ambassador for three and a half years. Janet learned to quilt when she was 12 years old and has since then raised a large family who all have quilts! She has loved learning new techniques and perfecting her skills for over 50 years and has a studio called Whispers of Yore in Hamilton, MO, right around the corner from Missouri Star Quilt Co with an endless supply of fabric at her disposal. Janet makes quilts for customers, offers quilting services on her Innova long arm and sells finished quilts as well.

BINDING TOOL class- This class taught by Susan Brown of TQM Rulers will teach you how to simply use the binding tool to finish your quilts with perfection! She will also show a few projects to creatively use the binding tool in making blocks! The binding tool will be available for purchase for just $7.50. She will talk about her triangle ruler and each attendee will receive a TQM triangle ruler ($20 value).

Susan Brown designs tools that make quilting a bit easier. At one time The Quilter's Mercantile was a storefront located in Mankato, MN, a 125 year old General Store that was as much an antique as the special old pieces found within. After the store closed she kept manufacturing rulers and can be found pedaling them at trade shows across the nation. The templates and tools work for beginners and experts alike. They become as important as your rotary cutter or pin cushion.

You may be familiar with the Bias Ruler and the Binding Tool, both featured and demonstrated by The Missouri Star Quilt Company.

LONESTAR class- Our final instructor will be Courtenay Hughes. She will guide you through the process of making a 4 color lonestar quilt.

Courtenay has been quilting for over 30 years. She has no idea where her love for the craft comes from as her mother didn't even like to hem pants. She has worked and taught in several quilt shops. Her current position as head of the sewing team at Missouri Star is a perfect fit for her.Along with winning blue ribbons for several of her quilts, she has a class on the Craftsy forum called Luminous Lone Star. She has also been on several Facebook lives for Missourii Star, and has filmed several videos/classes for them.Courtenay lives in Hamilton, along with her husband of 21 years and 2 dogs and an old cat.
